The Malus is constructed from two different types of mouth-blown glass, each with its own transparency. Together with the visible light source, three subtle lighting effects are created: direct downward light, soft diffused light, and an atmospheric glow that illuminates the room naturally. The result is warm, balanced lighting that is both functional and decorative.

A special detail is the loosely hanging cord, which references the stem of an apple. This gives the lamp a playful, organic character and emphasizes the natural inspiration behind the design.
