There are objects you don't just use, but touch intuitively. Objects that feel familiar, even before you understand why. Pepa is just such an object. Designed by Francesco Faccin.
With its sturdy, solid wood body, perfectly rounded and warm in the hand, it resembles an object you've known all your life. And yet, it's new. Modern. Different. Because behind that tactile surface lies a technological heart that brings light where you need it.
The inspiration comes from a quiet companion of the dining table: the pepper mill. A utilitarian object that evokes the same movement all over the world—grab, turn, add. Astep transforms this age-old gesture into something poetic: instead of flavor, with Pepa you bring light.
Turn it gently; the light awakens. Turn it further; it becomes fuller, rounder, warmer. Place it wherever the evening calls for an accent—on the dining table, in a quiet corner of the living room, on the terrace when it gets dark. Pepa follows effortlessly, always ready, always mobile.
Pepa is more than a portable lamp.
She is a small ritual, a moment of touching and turning, a fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary lighting technology.
Wherever you go, Pepa brings exactly what a good design object should: ambiance, simplicity, and a smile.

About the designer:
Constantly shifting the area of application between industrial production, independent production, community design and gallery work, Francesco Faccin, believes in design without boundaries or limits: “I am interested in design that sparks connections, thought and debate, above all those that are a product of in-depth studies beyond the object itself. Design is a fantastic opportunity to deepen our relationship with the world around us.”
