Vitra Compas Direction Desk Table.
Jean Prouvé designed different versions of the Compas Direction desk in the 1950s, using the construction principle of his contemporary style. Common feature: the metal base whose tapered shape in reverse V evokes a school compass.
The oiled solid wood top (oak, smoked oak or American walnut) gives it a luxurious and a nice comfortable touch. Due to its compact dimensions, it is a perfectly contemporary desk, where the computer replaces the stacks of old paper.

It is not without reason that he received the Grand Prix in 1952 and was also the winner of a race at the University of Nancy. At the age of 80 he also received the Erasmus Prize. Characteristic for this designer is that he sought contemporary solutions for contemporary problems and that he mainly thought in possibilities and not in impossibilities.
