The HAY Chisel 29 dining table combines Scandinavian simplicity with a powerful, almost sculptural character. Designed by Norwegian designer Andreas Bergsaker, the table is part of the Chisel Collection: a series of wooden furniture where traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design come together in a natural way.

The round tabletop rests on a striking central column, giving the Chisel 29 a calm and balanced appearance. The subtly beveled edges of the base allude to the chisel, after which the collection is named. It is precisely these carefully crafted details that give the minimalist design its own identity.

The Chisel 29 is finished in lacquered oak and oak veneer, allowing the natural appearance and structure of the wood to remain beautifully visible. Furthermore, thanks to the central base, the table offers plenty of freedom of movement around it, allowing for flexible chair placement.

The table is available with a diameter of 90 or 120 cm. The compact Ø90 cm version is ideal for smaller dining areas and kitchens, while the generous Ø120 cm variant offers more space for extended dining. Thanks to its timeless shape, the Chisel 29 fits just as easily into a modern interior as it does into a café, restaurant, or stylish meeting room.

About the designer:

Andreas Bergsaker (b. 1990) is a Norwegian product designer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He obtained his Master's degree in Product Design from the Oslo and Akershus University of Applied Sciences (HiOA) in 2015. His work encompasses diverse everyday objects, designed for longevity and for future generations. His designs are rooted in the exploration of material and form, and reference cultural heritage with an emphasis on traditional craftsmanship, industrial production processes, and tactile qualities. His work has led to exhibitions in London, Milan, New York, Oslo, and Stockholm. For HAY, Andreas Bergsaker designed the Korpus Shelf and the Chisel Lounge Chair.
