About the designer

Philippe Malouin (1982) is an internationally renowned British-Canadian designer and interior architect. After studying at the Design Academy Eindhoven, the École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle in Paris, and the Université de Montréal, he founded his own design studio in London in 2008.

Malouin is known for his unique approach in which functional clarity is combined with a sculptural, experimental design language. His work ranges from furniture and lighting to art objects and large-scale installations and is praised worldwide for the balance between comfort, innovation, and aesthetics. For HAY, he designed the Mimi Sofa Collection: a series of seating furniture that offers a new interpretation of relaxed luxury and contemporary living comfort.
