Meet Birk and the story behind Year Bird
Birk is a vibrant tribute to the Nordic landscape, with a light green head, an aqua beak, and a body in a deep green-blue teal that evokes spring, forest floors and lakeside shores. Light blue legs complete the look – bursting with playfulness and joy.
Birk is produced in limited numbers and engraved with the year. Year Bird is slightly smaller than the classic Songbird – but just as charming.
Birk is sensual and playful in a sparkling palette that awakens the energy of spring. The light green head, sea blue beak, and deep green - blue body evoke the forest floor and lakeside, while the light blue legs complete a colorful and whimsical expression.

About the designer:
Kay Bojesen (1886-1958) is one of the most important pioneers of Danish design. Trained as a silversmith in Georg Jensen's workshop, he designed various products in silver, such as cutlery and serving dishes, including his famous Grand Prix cutlery. Kay Bojesen also worked with other materials and was particularly interested in exploring the possibilities of wood.
