The integrated String desk is ideal for your home office or at work. The String Office Shelf is made of wood and metal, is 78 cm wide, 200 cm high and 58 cm deep. It is available in the color white. In detail, the Office Shelf by String consists of two floor-mounted side panels, three shelves (78 x 30 cm) and a desk.

About the designer:

Nils "Nisse" Strinning (December 8, 1917 - May 10, 2006) was a Swedish architect and designer.

Strinning was born in Kramfors and came from a Swedish family that originated in Ångermanland in the 16th century. The name was adopted at the beginning of the 20th century by the family farm "Strinningen" north of Härnösand.

Nisse Strinning was best known for the String bookshelf system that he and his wife, the designer Kajsa Strinning, designed in 1949 for a competition initiated by Bonnier, a leading Swedish magazine.

In the 1940s he studied architecture at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (KTH). As a student, he designed a drainer consisting of plastic-coated metal wires. The drainer, which was called elfa (not to be confused with electronics company ELFA), became very popular and started when he and his wife created the famous String shelf.

Nisse and Kajsa Strinning are rightly seen as icons of Scandinavian modern design and the String Shelving System as a modern contemporary design classic.
