The J39 chair by Fredericia is a timeless design by Børge Mogensen from 1947, originally designed for FDB (Danish Consumer Cooperative). This version combines a solid wood frame with a lightly padded linen canvas seat, its soft curves following the lines of the classic papercord weave. The design is based on Mogensen’s 1969 prototype.
Thanks to its natural appearance and strong construction, the J39 is a versatile chair that can serve as a dining chair, office chair, or an atmospheric addition to your living room. Its simplicity and democratic design philosophy quickly earned the J39 the nickname "The People’s Chair."
