Timeless Wicker Chair by Børge Mogensen
The BM62 armchair by Fredericia is a tribute to the essence of Danish design: functional, pure and sustainable. Designed in the 1950s by Børge Mogensen, this chair exudes simplicity and artisanal finesse. The combination of a solid oiled oak frame and a natural rattan seat emphasises the natural aesthetic and craftsmanship behind every detail.
Mogensen believed that timelessness and sustainability come from eliminating the superfluous and using high-quality materials. This is reflected in the visible joints, the lightweight construction and the natural materials that develop a beautiful patina over time.
The chair is designed with comfort in mind. During dinner, the lower backrest provides support for an upright posture. If you linger at the table, the upper backrest invites you to sit in a relaxed position. This versatility makes the chair suitable for a variety of environments, from your kitchen table to the dining room.

About the designer
Børge Mogensen (1914–1972) was an influential pioneer of Danish modernism. He studied furniture design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and was known for his focus on usability, simplicity and accessibility. As chief designer of the FDB (the Danish Consumer Association), he developed furniture that was intended for all levels of society – sturdy, timeless and affordable.
The BM62 is a beautiful example of that philosophy: a chair that has stood the test of time with its understated beauty and subtle elegance.
