The bird was one of the most beloved decorative objects in the house of Charles and Ray Eames and is now known as the black wooden bird called: Eames House Bird. The bird can be seen in many photos of the famous designer couple and even made its way into a commercial poster of Eames chairs. The original wooden bird was an Appalachian folk art piece that Charles and Ray Eames found during their travels.
