The Maasto table by the Finnish Vaarnii is very convincing, the simple lines give it a powerful appearance. The rich grain structure makes each copy unique – no two tables are the same.

The combination of robustness and refinement is characteristic of Ronan Bouroullec's work, and this design is no exception. "Maasto" means 'back to earth' in Finnish – a fitting name for a table that grounds, gives peace and lives with the times.

About the designer

Ronan Bouroullec (1971) is one of the most influential French designers of his generation. Together with his brother Erwan, he created iconic designs for Vitra, Flos, Kvadrat, Iittala and Hay, among others. Their work is exhibited worldwide in leading museums such as the MoMA in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
