The Numbra Portable Lamp TY3 by &Tradition, designed by Teruhiro Yanagihara, is a portable table lamp that centers on the Japanese appreciation for light, shadow, and stillness. With its understated design and use of warm materials, Numbra is both a functional light source and an atmospheric design object.

The inspiration for the collection stems from the concept of a penumbra: the partial shadow created when light is only partially blocked. This subtle interplay between light and dark is reflected in Numbra's layered construction. Even when the lamp is not lit, the sculptural silhouette creates a calm, architectural presence.

The lamp is carefully crafted from FSC®-certified solid oak, tumbled cast aluminum, and a matte acrylic diffuser. The natural warmth and tactility of the oak wood form a refined contrast with the aluminum, giving Numbra its distinctive Japanese-Scandinavian appearance. Thanks to the integrated battery, the TY3 can be used completely wirelessly. The integrated LED emits a pleasant warm light of 2700K and can be dimmed in three settings: 100%, 50%, and 20%. At full brightness, the lamp offers a runtime of approximately 10 hours after a full charge.

With its compact size of 25.5 cm high, Numbra is easy to take from the living room to the bedroom, dining table, or patio. The IP44 rating allows for outdoor use, provided the lamp is placed in a sheltered location during wet weather. When the lamp is not used for extended periods, it should be stored indoors.
