Designed by Erwan Bouroullec, the Vitra Mynt Soft Chair is the extra-comfortable version of the versatile Mynt Chair. The chair combines the dynamic ergonomics of a modern task chair with the soft aesthetic and comfort of a fully upholstered dining chair. As a result, the Mynt Soft feels just as at home at a dining table as it does behind a desk, in a meeting room, or in a restaurant.

Its enhanced comfort comes from V-Foam, a recyclable polyurethane foam developed by Vitra and BASF. Both the seat and the backrest are upholstered with this material. The curved back flows seamlessly into the supportive armrests; together with the softly contoured seat, it creates an inviting form that remains comfortable even during prolonged periods of sitting.

A distinctive feature of the Mynt is its Vitra-patented tilt mechanism. The chair responds automatically to the user's movements and weight. Depending on the center of gravity, the seat tilts forward or backward, moving independently of the backrest. This allows the Mynt to support various sitting postures without the need for constant manual adjustments. Only the seat height is adjusted to personal preference.

This version is upholstered in Vitra Nubia 09 Ivory/Forest, a rich fabric blending ivory, green, and subtle light-grey nuances. Combined with the powder-coated aluminum base, the Mynt Soft acquires a refined look that deliberately blurs the line between office and residential furniture.

About Erwan Bouroullec

French designer Erwan Bouroullec (b. 1976) is one of the most renowned contemporary French designers. Since 1998, he has collaborated extensively with his brother Ronan Bouroullec, designing a wide range of furniture, textiles, installations, and architectural projects.

His design approach combines traditional sketching and craftsmanship with modern digital techniques. With Mynt, Bouroullec explores how a chair can naturally adapt to the user and various environments, without the technical aesthetic of a conventional office chair.

V-Foam

For the soft version of Mynt, Vitra uses V-Foam, a recyclable polyurethane foam developed in collaboration with BASF. Both the seat and backrest feature this material, giving Mynt Soft a softer, more comfortable feel.
