About the designer

Julien Renault is a French designer who grew up near Paris and studied at the ESAD Design & Art School in Reims and at ECAL in Switzerland. His design philosophy combines a rational, functional approach with a strong artistic sensibility.

From his studio in Brussels, Renault creates furniture, lighting, and objects that explore the relationship between form, use, and environment. His designs are characterized by clean lines, subtle details, and a careful balance between aesthetics and functionality. For HAY, he designed, among others, the Compass lighting collection, the Pastis collection, the Layout collection, and the Deville series, underscoring his talent for timeless and thoughtful design.
