Hay Deville Chair.

The Deville Chair from HAY Outdoor, designed by Julien Renault, is a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic bistro chair. The design translates a familiar silhouette to contemporary outdoor living, with generous proportions and a gently curved frame that feels both open and inviting.

The chair is made from at least 60% recycled aluminum and finished with a durable, rust-resistant coating. This makes the Deville not only light and easy to move, but also resistant to intensive outdoor use. The subtle lines and understated, almost nostalgic look give the chair a timeless character that fits effortlessly into a variety of settings.

Thanks to its stackable design, the Deville Chair is exceptionally practical while maintaining its comfort and aesthetic. Ideal for balconies, patios, and gardens, but equally suitable for cafés, terraces, and other outdoor spaces where design and functionality converge.

The Deville Chair is available in a variety of colors and combines beautifully with other elements from the HAY Outdoor collection.

About the designer:

French designer Julien Renault grew up near Paris and studied industrial design at ESAD Design & Art School in Reims, France, and ECAL in Switzerland. These two different backgrounds have contributed to his working method—a combination of objective and rational methods with artistic and personal freedom.

Currently working from his studio in Brussels, Julien finds inspiration everywhere, making him unafraid to enhance the everyday. Julien is convinced that all objects have a subconscious effect on our daily lives and expresses the interconnectedness between objects and their surroundings in his designs, which he creates for a number of international brands.

For HAY, Julien designed the Pastis table and chair series, the Layout chair series, the Compass lamp collection and the Deville collection.
