The Apollo rug by Finarte, designed by Eija Rasinmäki, is a contemporary interpretation of the Finnish weaving tradition. The pattern of this hand-woven cotton rug combines shades of terracotta, orange, beige, and light green into a harmonious composition that brings warmth, rhythm, and character to your interior.

Apollo was created during a period when there was a desire for larger, more subdued patterns—a reaction to the traditional, striped Finnish rag rugs. The result is a design that lends itself perfectly to larger interiors, such as living rooms or dining areas, where the rug comes into its own as a subtle yet powerful statement.

The original design, Aralia, dates from 1985—the year Finarte was founded—and is one of the iconic works from the archive. Now, as part of Finarte’s 40th Anniversary Collection, Apollo returns as a tribute to the craftsmanship, sustainability, and timeless elegance of Finnish design.

Made from 100% recycled cotton and handwoven in India, Apollo reflects both sustainable thinking and authentic craftsmanship.
