Designed by Milan-based AMDL CIRCLE, under the direction of Michele De Lucchi, the Bistra Chair is a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic rattan bistro chair. Designed for both dining and conference tables, the chair's flowing curves are achieved through a steam-bending process, while the backrest features traditional rattan wickerwork. The removable seat cushion is upholstered in high-quality cotton and features a hand-drawn pattern inspired by the foliage in Leonardo da Vinci's famous Sala delle Asse fresco.

The shapes of the Bistra collection evoke plants sprouting from the ground and branching out into interwoven structures. The design emerged from AMDL CIRCLE's research into the essence of rattan—one of the fastest-growing plants in the world. Rattan is remarkably strong, durable, and resilient, yet lightweight and highly flexible. The Bistra Chair brings warmth, charm, and character to your interior, whether placed solo or in a group.
