About the designer:

George Sowden (born 1942) is a British designer with a background in architecture. In the 1970s, Sowden moved to Milan to work with names like Ettore Sottsass and Olivetti, and in the 1980s, he became one of the founders of the Memphis Group design movement. In 2010, Sowden developed the popular SoftBrew coffee and tea maker. He has won numerous design awards, including the prestigious Compasso d'Oro Award.
