The Environmental Wall Hangings are decorative panels with the famous patterns of Alexander Girard: Four Leaf Clover, Love Heart, Eyes, Black & White and Geometric A. The patterns are screen printed on a cotton-linen textile.

Beginning in 1971, architect and designer Alexander Girard developed a series of screen-printed images on fabric to add a touch of human warmth and emotion to office environments: the Environmental Enrichment Panels. With a multitude of diverse and inspiring patterns, these large wall panels were also frequently used in private interiors.

The Swiss company Vitra, is the ideal showcase for Girard's designs. Founded in 1959 by Willi Fehlbaum, the company philosophy has always been to produce beautiful and environmentally friendly household products.

The Environmental Wall Panel Eyes is made of a mix of cotton and linen and is 80 cm wide and 46,6 cm high.

About the designer:

Born in 1907 in New York City, Alexander Girard was one of the leading figures of post-war American design, along with his close friends and colleagues George Nelson and Charles & Ray Eames.

The main focus of his broad body of work was textile design. Girard created numerous fabrics for the Herman Miller Company, favoring abstract shapes and geometric patterns in a wide variety of color compositions. Many of his furniture fabrics are still current and current and are still manufactured and used by Vitra today.
