Designed by Finn Juhl.
The FJ Essence teacup and saucer by Architectmade is a refined porcelain design by the iconic Danish architect and designer Finn Juhl, one of the most important representatives of the 20th century Danish Modern style. The elegant, flowing curves and the white, hand-glazed porcelain make this set a timeless and aesthetic table piece.
The design originally dates back to 1952, but was not put into production at the time due to the technical challenges posed by the subtle curves. Sixty years later, Juhl’s original drawings were rediscovered by Architectmade, who brought the design to life with care and dedication.

About the designer
Finn Juhl (1912–1989) was a pioneer of Danish modernist design. He studied architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts under Kay Fisker, and subsequently worked at the architectural firm of Vilhelm Lauritzen. In 1945, he founded his own studio in Copenhagen. His work – from sculptural furniture designs to refined tableware – is characterised by organic shapes and an exceptional sense of detail and balance.
The FJ Essence teacup is a subtle tribute to Juhl’s love of design, with an understated elegance that fits perfectly into both classic and modern interiors.
