The 9205 table lamp harmoniously combines a hand-pleated shade with a slim brass base/stem decorated with a hand-turned pattern reminiscent of a rattan weave.

The table lamp spreads a soft and warm light and the timeless proportions of the lamp exude an elegant presence, making it a perfect addition to different areas at home, such as the side table by your living room sofa, the windowsill or on the bedside table next to your bed .

Originally designed in the early 1950s and produced by the Finnish company Oy Taito Ab, the 9205 luminaire is now part of the Paavo Tynell collection, housed by the Danish design brand Gubi.

About the designer.

Paavo Tynell was a Finnish-born industrial designer who specialized in lighting design. He started his career as a tinsmith in Helsinki and quickly developed into a talented blacksmith. Together with fellow designers, Tynell founded Taito AB in 1918, a metalworking company that produced industrial lighting and other metal objects for various industries.

By 1930 the company decided to concentrate exclusively on industrial lighting, such was their expertise and reputation in this field. This led Tynell to a lifelong career in lighting design, eventually producing many iconic designs that last to this day, such as the 1965 pendant lamp, now produced by Danish interior design experts Gubi.
