A design that is pared down to the essence. Deliberately simple in its expression with seamless integration of seating and legs.

The Workshop Bench is a contemporary, playful approach to the wooden bench. It offers a new perspective on a traditional Scandinavian piece of furniture, with a distinct silhouette created by its solid wooden legs and delicately curved seat. An extension of the Workshop Chair, the small 2-seater offers a more sculptural look with simple yet considered details. Designed to stand on its own, it is an ideal addition to a narrow space such as the hallway or as a statement piece in its own right.

Material: lacquered oak. Base solid oak, back in oak veneer.

Product Material
The Workshop Bench is made using traditional techniques that emphasize workmanship and detailing. Frame and legs in solid oak, seat and back in form pressed oak veneer — all parts in FSC™️-certified wood (FSC-C028824) and coated with a water-based lacquer. Plastic glides. Oak veneer: slight color variations may occur due to the inherent characteristics of the material.

Care instructions: Wipe off with moist cloth and remove excess liquid with dry cloth.​ The Workshop Bench can be cleaned with alcohol disinfectant. However, please note that wooden products will get patina where the surface color can slightly fade. If cleaning is uneven, this may become even more apparent, yet the lacquer will stay in place. For wooden products in lighter colors, the patina will be less apparent.

About the designer:

In 1997, Cecilie Manz graduated from Copenhagen-based Danmarks Designskole, with additional studies at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. A year after graduation, Cecilie Manz founded her own design studio, where she has established herself as one of Denmark’s most prominent designers. Her work within furniture, glass, lighting, and ceramics has achieved international success and is sold and exhibited all over the world.
