The wall lamp VL38 by Louis Poulsen has the same timeless design as the table lamp from the series, designed by architect Vilhelm Lauritzen in 1941 for the Radiohuset building in Copenhagen. The wall lamp consists of a beautiful copper arm and a white round shade.

The angle of the head can be adjusted with a small hinge, and because of the white interior of the shade, the lamp gives a pleasant downward light. The VL38 wall lamp is a great reading lamp in the bedroom but is also suitable for other applications. In addition, the lamp has a timer function and can be switched off within 4 or 8 hours.

About the designer:

Architect and designer Vilhelm Lauritzen (1894-1984) was one of the most important Danish architects of his time and a figurehead of Danish functionalism. Lauritzen's work is still visible everywhere in different places in Denmark - the Nørrebro theater, Daells Varehus in Copenhagen and the first terminal of Kastrup Airport are great examples of his modernist style.

Lauritzen also often designed the furniture and lighting for his buildings, and some of his best-known design pieces are the Radiohuset lamps, designed for the Frederiksberg radio building and produced by Louis Poulsen. "No life without aesthetics" was Lauritzens determined and he regarded architecture as a form of applied art. Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter, founded by Lauritzen in 1922, is today one of the most appreciated architectural firms in Denmark.
