Originally launched in 2006, the Vitra Slow Sofa by French design duo Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec has become a modern classic. Now reintroduced in a fresh edition featuring Flocca dark blue upholstery and a black aluminium base, this iconic armchair blends soft elegance with contemporary appeal.

Thanks to its lightweight aesthetic and the innovative use of tensioned knit fabric stretched over a steel frame, the Slow Chair offers a deep, embracing seat with exceptional comfort. It invites you to sink in, while still maintaining the right level of support — ideal for relaxing at home, in a hotel lounge, or a refined office space.

Modern design with a sustainable core
This updated version of the Slow Chair isn't just about looks. Vitra has made significant strides in sustainability: the seat and back cushions are filled with 100% recycled PET and polyester fibres, sourced from post-consumer and industrial waste. The seat cushion itself uses V-foam, a groundbreaking, fully recyclable polyurethane foam developed by Vitra and BASF.

  • 3 Vitra Cushions (40 x 30 cm, 60 x 40 and 65 x 30 cm), on photo 1 cushion 40 x 30 in Cento pink mustard, 1 cushion 60 x 30 in Credo cream,  and 1 cushion in Hola mint.

  • 2 neck cushion in Flocca dark blue.

• Filling: firm support, with recycled PET fibre

• Seat height: 330 mm (230 mm under applied load, EN 1335-1 standard)

• Base: die-cast aluminium, deep black finish.

• Glides: polyethylene

• Covers: removable upholstery

To maintain the cushions' shape and fullness, we recommend fluffing and plumping them regularly.
