The Vitra Visiona Stool is an iconic design by Verner Panton, originally developed for the legendary Visiona installation at the Cologne Furniture Fair in 1970. With its soft, organic shape and versatile character, this designer stool has grown into a timeless classic that fits effortlessly into both modern and classic interiors.

The Visiona Stool is much more than a compact stool. Use it as an extra seat, a comfortable pouf, a footstool, or a stylish accent in the living room, bedroom, study, or even a covered terrace. Thanks to its light weight, it is easy to move, while the generous foam padding ensures a surprisingly comfortable seating experience.

A special detail is the elastic rubber band on the underside, which keeps the upholstery firmly in place. This makes the fabric cover easy to remove for cleaning or replacement.

The Visiona Stool is available in an extensive selection of high-quality Vitra fabrics and colors, allowing you to perfectly match the pouf to your interior. From understated natural tones to bold colors: the possibilities are virtually endless.

The interior consists of high-quality polyurethane foam with a polystyrene core and a soft polyester filling. The sturdy MDF base is equipped with felt glides to optimally protect your floor.

New materials and colors

In addition to the existing fabrics Tonus, Laser RE, Hopsak, Twill, and Volo – the latter now available in a more extensive color palette – the Visiona Stool is also available in Hola, Cosy 2, and Cento. These various upholstery options exude a homely, inviting atmosphere, but are also suitable for intensive use in public and semi-public spaces. This allows you to configure the ideal Visiona Stool for every situation and purpose.

About the designer

The Danish designer Verner Panton (1926–1998) is considered one of the most innovative designers of the twentieth century. His bold vision regarding color, form, and the use of materials resulted in countless iconic furniture designs that are included in museums and design collections worldwide. The Visiona Stool reflects its signature style: playful, comfortable, and progressive, without sacrificing timelessness.
