Design House Stockholm Tondo.

Jessika Källeskog has reshaped the traditional mortar and pestle by designing Tondo for Design House Stockholm. The Tondo is both a beautiful marble sculpture and a kitchen tool with a different shape and a quieter movement, making the Tondo unique and yet something very familiar in your kitchen.

Tondo is more than just a tool for grinding herbs and spices, when your guests see it, it will become the focal point of your kitchen and a talking point at the dinner table. With Tondo you really feel how the peppercorns are ground, and you can finely determine the coarseness yourself.

About the designer:

Jessika Källeskog is a hands-on designer, sculpting shapes and working in close harmony with her material. She studied and worked in Italy for ten years and this has had a formative influence on her understanding of design.

In Italy she developed her interest in sculpture and handicrafts, as well as her fascination with the tactile qualities of objects: their materiality, and the encounters between contrasting forms that can lead to subtle details. Today, Jessika runs 'Contour', her own design studio in Stockholm, specializing in product design and interior architecture.
