A modular aluminum piece of furniture with architectural freedom
Stack, designed by the Ghent-based architectural firm Studio MOTO, is a modular furniture system that revolves around simplicity, flexibility, and an honest use of materials. The collection consists of stackable elements that can be combined to create cabinets, open shelving, totems, or low tables—without screws or mechanical fasteners. Everything is based on balance, weight, and a minimalist construction principle.
The system is constructed from a limited number of industrial aluminum components, which makes Stack not only visually clear but also exceptionally versatile. The furniture adapts effortlessly to various environments: from homes and offices to shops and public spaces.
Each Stack piece is crafted from untreated, raw aluminum. The surface is allowed to live: small imperfections, markings, and subtle color variations are not flaws, but part of the character. Over time, the aluminum develops a natural patina, allowing each piece to slowly and personally evolve—a silent dialogue between material, use, and time.
Stack is design reduced to its essence: functional, adaptable, and architecturally pure.
