VITRA Potence wall lamp deep black

The Vitra Petite Potence wall lamp, was designed by Jean Prouvé from 1947. Prouvé designed the first Potence lamp for his own home in Nancy, France, and this sophisticated functionality has since found its way into various applications such as in houses and public places .

The Potence lamp is considered to be one of the most puristic works of Prouvé: it consists of an incandescent lamp and a rotating steel rod that is held by means of a steel wire. The steel bar has a length of more than one meter and the included LED lamp is dimmable. Petite Potence catches the eye with its timeless, minimalist look and is also a great alternative to the traditional hanging lamp.

Easy accessibility was an essential starting point for Prouvé's designs, which were often based on prefabricated houses, modular systems and mass production.
