The Limit Lounge Chair by Normann Copenhagen is an iconic design that proves true quality is timeless. Originally designed by Niels Bendtsen in 1974 and now re-released, this lounge chair combines a minimalist look with exceptional comfort and a surprisingly innovative construction.

The design originated during a period when efficient material usage was central. That philosophy still forms the basis of the chair. The slender steel frame supports padded textile upholstery that offers both structure and comfort, without unnecessary parts or foam padding. The Limit Lounge Chair is available with a powder-coated steel frame for indoor use or with a galvanized and powder-coated finish for outdoor use. The innovative upholstery consists of a UV-resistant, PVC-coated PET inner layer with an open mesh structure, combined with a comfortable padded outer layer that is easily attached to the frame with a zipper. Thanks to this clever construction, the upholstery can be replaced if necessary, significantly extending the chair's lifespan.

For project-based applications, optional connectors are available, allowing multiple chairs to be seamlessly linked to create flexible seating arrangements of any desired length.

With its clean design, thoughtful choice of materials, and durable character, the Limit Lounge Chair has secured a permanent place in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. A design classic that still feels just as relevant today as it did fifty years ago.

Maintenance:

For textile upholstery, cleaning with a suitable textile or upholstery cleaner is recommended. Leather versions can be cleaned with a damp cloth and lukewarm water with soap flakes. Regular vacuuming with a soft furniture brush helps to optimally maintain the color, appearance, and lifespan of both textile and leather.
