The Deville Armchair from HAY Outdoor, designed by Julien Renault, is a contemporary interpretation of the classic bistro chair with armrests. The design builds on a familiar typology and translates it to modern outdoor living, with added comfort and a relaxed, inviting look.

The generous proportions and gently curved frame create an open silhouette that invites you to sit and linger. The integrated armrests enhance seating comfort without detracting from the airy design. Made from at least 60% post-consumer recycled aluminum, the Deville Armchair is lightweight, rust-resistant, and designed for long-term outdoor use.

Thanks to its stackable design, the chair is practical and easy to move or store. The understated nostalgic look, combined with contemporary materials and finishes, makes the Deville Armchair suitable for a variety of settings – from balconies and gardens to cafés, terraces, and patios.

Available in various colors, the Deville Armchair fits effortlessly into both residential and professional outdoor spaces.

About the designer:

French designer Julien Renault grew up near Paris and studied industrial design at ESAD Design & Art School in Reims, France, and ECAL in Switzerland. These two different backgrounds have contributed to his working method—a combination of objective and rational methods with artistic and personal freedom.

Currently working from his studio in Brussels, Julien finds inspiration everywhere, making him unafraid to enhance the everyday. Julien is convinced that all objects have a subconscious effect on our daily lives and expresses the interconnectedness between objects and their surroundings in his designs, which he creates for a number of international brands.

For HAY, Julien designed the Pastis table and chair series, the Layout chair series, the Compass lamp collection, and the Deville collection.
