History:

The spatial and human considerations of the series originated with architect and designer Troels Grum-Schwensen – a pursuit of balance between character and function, rather than compromising one or the other. Troels originally designed the first version of the chair for use in a café and gallery space in an old sugar factory in Stege, on the island of Møn in southeastern Denmark, where a clear contrast between the rough, worn walls and the clean, sleek, all-steel chair was a key objective. The process with FRAMA began after a visit to the Grumdesign studio – the chair's character and practicality represented a direct connection between FRAMA's design philosophy and Grum-Schwensen's approach.
