Materials & finishes:
Cast aluminum structure, with a deep black powder coating. Seat upholstered with a choice of Hopsak (polyamide: 100%) and Track (polyamide: 10%, virgin wool: 90%) fabrics. Features an adjustable rear tilt, lockable in the forward position and stepless seat height adjustment with gas spring. Swivel base is with felt glides for use on hard floors.

About the designers:

American husband and wife design duo Charles and Ray Eames have had a profound influence on the visual character of American life, producing original work in the fields of architecture, furniture design, industrial design, and photographic art.

The Eames first collaborated with Vitra in 1957 to produce some of the most iconic furniture pieces in the history of interior design. Today, Vitra still reflects their philosophy on design and functionality, which is best understood by Charles' own words: “Recognizing the need is the primary condition for design.”
