NORTHERN Dokka pendant brass

Northern Dokka Pendant Lamp.

Northern's Dokka was one of the best-selling Norwegian ceiling lamps of all time until it suddenly disappeared from the market when the previous manufacturer stopped producing it. In 2007 Northern relaunched this legendary pendant. Today, the Dokka ceiling lamp is made of steel and made to last for decades.

What makes the lamp so popular is its elegant shape, the Dokka has a simple aesthetic. The lamp is suitable for homes, offices, restaurants and other public areas.

The light of Dokka is soft and pleasant: it is as if the lamp welcomes you with its friendly glow and invites you to stay a little longer.

About the designer:

Birger Dahl (1916 - 1998) was one of the greatest pioneers of Scandinavian lighting design. He was born in Moss, Norway, and studied at the Norwegian National School of Art (SHKS), where he later worked. Dahl's career in lighting design began when he worked as chief designer at Sønnico from 1945 to 1957. During this period, he created the famous Dokka pendant lamp, the first Norwegian lamp ever to win a gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1954. The legendary luminaire immediately put Norwegian lighting design in the international spotlight.
