The Muuto Cover Side Chair is a contemporary interpretation of the classic Scandinavian wooden chair. Designed by Danish designer Thomas Bentzen, this chair combines refined artisanal details with modern comfort and a timeless appearance. What makes the Cover Side Chair special is the elegantly shaped backrest made of pressed wood veneer. The backrest appears to be folded around the frame, forming the distinctive detail of the design. The soft curves, refined lines, and balanced proportions give the chair a light and inviting look.

Thomas Bentzen worked on the development of the Cover series for more than three years, aiming to create a wooden chair that is both comfortable and full of character. Thanks to the ergonomic design, the chair offers pleasant seating comfort, while the strong wooden frame ensures ease of use for years to come. Furthermore, the un-upholstered Cover series bears the EU Ecolabel, guaranteeing a lower environmental impact throughout the product's entire lifecycle – from raw material extraction to recycling.

Maintenance

For daily maintenance, a slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Wipe away excess moisture immediately with a dry cloth. For upholstered versions, it is recommended to gently dab stains with a clean, lint-free cloth and lukewarm water.

About the designer

Thomas Bentzen is one of the most influential designers of the new generation of Danish design. After his education at the Copenhagen Design School, he worked for design studio Louise Campbell before founding his own design studio in 2010. His designs are characterized by simplicity, functionality, and a strong focus on daily use.
