The seal lounge chair is a design by the famous Ib Kofod-Larsen from 1952, for the Danish brand Audo Copenhagen.

The Seal was designed in 1952 and was a collaboration between Ib Kofod-Larsen and the Swedish furniture company OPE Möbler. The armchair is named after the Swedish ski resort of Sälen and is the result of the Danish designer's attention to detail, comfort and organic shapes.

The chair is made of a solid wooden frame and has an elegant design that invites you to sit down. Thanks to the sloping seat and the well-padded seat and backrest, this chair is extremely comfortable.

About the designer:

Furniture designer Ib Kofod-Larsen was born in Denmark in 1921 and studied at the Danish Royal Academy in Copenhagen. In 1948 he won the Holmegaard Glass Competition and an annual award from the Danish Joiners' Guild.

The latter attracted the attention of the Danish furniture manufacturer Faarup Møbelfabrik, and Kofod-Larsen produced some of his finest works for the company in the 1950s, including his rosewood Model 66 sideboard.

He also designed furniture for several other leading mid-century manufacturers, both at home and abroad, including High Wycombe, Christensen & Larsen, Carlo Gahrn, Bovenkamp, Petersens and Fredericia Furniture.
