Artek x Marimekko Aalto Stool 60 seireeni – An Anniversary Edition of Two Icons
The Aalto Stool 60 seireeni is a special collaboration between Artek and Marimekko, designed to celebrate Artek's 90th anniversary in 2025. This unique design combines Alvar Aalto's timeless three-legged stool with the expressive seireeni pattern by Maija Isola, one of Marimekko's most iconic textile designers.
The simplicity and functionality of Aalto's classic stool, originally introduced in 1933, is enhanced in this edition with Isola's playful wave pattern. The result is a collectible that's not only practical—as an extra seat, bedside table, or side table—but also makes a powerful statement in your interior.

About the designer:
Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) is probably the most famous Finnish architect and designer in the world. In 1921, Alvar Aalto graduated in architecture from the Helsinki Institute of Technology and began his career as an architect.
One of the most important works he was given was the planning of the tuberculosis sanatorium in Paimio, Finland. This project also marked the beginning of Aalto's career as a furniture designer - in fact, it was the first building planned by Aalto that was completely furnished with furniture designed by Aalto himself, including the lighting.
Other important projects completed by Alvar Aalto include the Viipuri Municipal Library, Villa Mairea, La Maison Carré and the Finnish pavilions for the 1937 Paris and 1939 New York World Exhibitions.
