A modern interpretation of the Asian lantern.
The Formakami JH3 pendant lamp by &Tradition is a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic Asian paper lantern, designed by Jaime Hayón. With this design, Hayón aims to bring light to everyday life, both literally and symbolically.
The lampshade is made of ivory rice paper, giving the fixture an airy and soft appearance. The open bottom design maximizes light output, while the black oak rings give the handmade shade a subtle rhythm and contrast. The playful combination of round shapes in various sizes gives the Formakami a unique, sculptural look that feels both modern and timeless.
The JH3 is part of a collection of three pendant lamps and fits effortlessly into a variety of interiors – from Scandinavian minimalist to warm eclectic.
