Description

Vitra Akari 3A.

The Akari collection is designed by Isamu Noguchi for the Swiss company Vitra, it is a lamp made of shoji paper and these are all made by hand. Akari is Japanese and means clarity and light, but also lightness.

Because of the special shoij paper of which the lamp is made, the somewhat cool light from the light source is converted into a nice, warm light. This creates a particularly pleasant atmosphere in every room!

Dimensions: Depth: 28- Height: 56 cm.

Fitting E27 - light source Led 4W max 12W.

The Akari collection consists of many different types of lamps, both floor / table and pendant lamps.

The designer:

Isamu Noguchi (1904–1988) was a Japanese-American artist and landscape architect best known for his sculptures and furniture, such as the iconic Noguchi table. Isamu, a son of the Japanese poet Yone Noguchi and the American writer Leonie Gilmour, was born in Los Angeles, lived in Japan as a youth and attended Columbia University and Leonardo da Vinci Art School in New York.

In 1927 he founded his first studio and received the Guggenheim Fellowship. Noguchi also spent long periods traveling and studying in Asia, studying brush painting in China and pottery in Japan.
