Description

Work Desk oak, height adjustable L120.

Design by Nils Strinning from 1946.

The versatile String Work Desk is a flexible and professional desk to work on at home or in the office and is adjustable in height. The desk is very sturdy due to the three-legged base, and can be adjusted in height according to your own wishes with the step-less electrical system, no matter how big or small. This can be very useful when the desk is used by several people, or when there is a need to work standing up.

The desk also has an integrated cable tray, so no hassle with loose cables. Material: MDF and steel. Table top: lacquered MDF or oak veneer, fine texture. Base powder coated black, gloss 30 / RAL 9005. Dimensions: L120 D78 cm. Weight: Max 60 Kg. scattered across the tabletop.

The desk is available in 3 sizes, and adjustable in height: 71.5 to 118.5 cm.

Dimensions: L120 D78 - Height 71.5-118.5 cm.

Extra's: Also available to order/ select is a Works drawer and a Works Screen. The Works Screen can be used as a semi transparent partition between workstations and as a bulletin board or holder for organizers.

About the designer:

Nils "Nisse" Strinning (December 8, 1917 - May 10, 2006) was a Swedish architect and designer.

Strinning was born in Kramfors and came from a Swedish family that originated in Ångermanland in the 16th century. The name was adopted at the beginning of the 20th century by the family farm "Strinningen" north of Härnösand.

Nisse Strinning was best known for the String bookshelf system that he and his wife, the designer Kajsa Strinning, designed in 1949 for a competition initiated by Bonnier, a leading Swedish magazine.

In the 1940s he studied architecture at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (KTH). As a student, he designed a drainer consisting of plastic-coated metal wires. The drainer, which was called elfa (not to be confused with electronics company ELFA), became very popular and started when he and his wife created the famous String shelf.

Nisse and Kajsa Strinning are rightly seen as icons of Scandinavian modern design and the String Shelving System as a modern contemporary design classic.
