Tom Dixon Cork Table
The Cork table Cork is a design by Tom Dixon in collaboration with Amorim.
As part of a futuristic collection with different pieces of furniture, the guiding principle in this series is the material. Characterized by soft rounded shapes and thick-edged silhouettes, this series is a new way to rethink traditional materials for use leading to these unique designs.
Cork is in fact one of the oldest materials in the world, valued for its versatility and elasticity, along with waterproof and soundproof all molded by nature. The color of this series is darker than the usual cork color, this was created by the heating process of the various cork barks and is 100% recycled.
The whole project was created by a collaboration between Tom Dixon Studio and Corticeira Amorim, a Portuguese multinational company with more than 150 years of history that is now the largest cork producer in the world, thanks in part to its vision in the field of sustainability and recyclable resources.
Dimensions: L. 300 cm. - W. 95 cm. - H. 75 cm.
About the designer:
"Growing up, we had cork floors and they had great warmth and cuddlyness," Dixon said. You can't get much better in terms of dream material. "
