STRING STRING® SYSTEM WALL CABINET COMBINATION 7

STRING® SYSTEM WALL CABINET COMBINATION 7.

Design by Nils Strinning from 1946.

The wall cabinet is made up of several separate parts. If you choose this combination, you have the ideal workplace for working at home. The nice thing about this series of caste is that it consists of separate elements, so you have the possibility to adjust the height of the desk to your own body height.

The plastic organizers, which are black, can be attached to the metal uprights next to the desk and are useful for placing ruler / pens, for example. With the chest of drawers next to the desk, you always have all your other office supplies within reach. The cabinets with sliding doors are perfect for storing A4 folders, for example.

The different cabinets, desk and shelves are made of MDF with a layer of beautiful walnut veneer on top. An extra shelf is also included that you can place later in the cupboard. The combination is always extended later with the various separate parts from the String collection

The cabinets and shelves are made of MDF with a walnut veneer. The steel frames come in a black powder coating.

The depth of the cabinet is only 30 centimeters, so it quickly fits in different places.

Dimensions String ready-made cabinet combination 7: Depth 58 - Height 200 - Wide 160 cm.

About the designer:

Nils "Nisse" Strinning (December 8, 1917 - May 10, 2006) was a Swedish architect and designer.

Strinning was born in Kramfors and came from a Swedish family that originated in Ångermanland in the 16th century. The name was adopted at the beginning of the 20th century by the family farm "Strinningen" north of Härnösand.

Nisse Strinning was best known for the String bookshelf system that he and his wife, the designer Kajsa Strinning, designed in 1949 for a competition initiated by Bonnier, a leading Swedish magazine.

In the 1940s he studied architecture at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (KTH). As a student, he designed a drainer consisting of plastic-coated metal wires. The drainer, which was called elfa (not to be confused with electronics company ELFA), became very popular and started when he and his wife created the famous String shelf.

Nisse and Kajsa Strinning are rightly seen as icons of Scandinavian modern design and the String Shelving System as a modern contemporary design classic.
