PH 3/2 floor lamp, brass - amber
Design by Poul Henningsen.
The PH 3/2 floor lamp by Louis Poulsen combines a warm, amber colored glass shade with an adjustable leg and brushed brass base. The construction is based on a reading lamp developed by Poul Henningsen in the 1950s - because of the adjustable arm that could be moved up and down, the lamp was given the appropriate nickname "The water pump". The amber-colored PH 3/2 floor lamp, perfected with the engraved initials of Henningsen under the switch, is a special edition, and therefore limited available.

About the designer:
Poul Henningsen (1894-1967) was a famous Danish designer who studied from 1911 to 1914 at the Technical School in Frederiksberg, Denmark, and then at the Technical College in Copenhagen from 1914 to 1917. He started practicing traditional functionalist architecture, but over the years his interests in mainly enlightenment changed, and that is also what made him famous.
