LOUIS POULSEN NJP WALL LAMP
LOUIS POULSEN NJP LONG ARM WALL LAMP.
Design by Nendo.
After the success of the NJP table lamp, launched in 2016, Louis Poulsen has decided to expand the family by adding a floor lamp and 2 wall lamps; one with a short arm and the other with a long articulated arm.
The shade of the NJP is shaped to fit perfectly in the palm of the hand. It has a switch to select between two light intensities with a single touch. The rear opening of the shade towards the arm provides a wide amplitude of movement and good ventilation for LEDs.
The ultimate comfort is that the lamp goes out itself if you forget to do this. With a handy timer that you can set to 4 or 8 hours. You attach the wall lamp to the wall by means of the supplied wall bracket. there is a choice of grey, black or white.

About the designer:
In 2002 Oki Sato founded nendo design studio. nendo means ’clay’ in Japanese – or more specifically, modelling clay such as plasticine. A unique material that makes it easy to do creative modelling. As Oki Sato explains: ”The name is appropriate for a studio that needs to develop design solutions for a host of very different clients”. Oki Sato does not look at design like many iconic designers, who have focused on the mantra, ’form follows function’. He also looks at the history behind the product and its design.
Story behind the product:
The NJP series was designed by Oki Sato, founder of nendo design studio, with the intention of producing a new interpretation of the classic anglepoise lamp – with all its familiar details – in a contemporary design, featuring functions adapted to modern working life, both in the office and at home.
The NJP Floor lamp’s flexible head and arms provide exceptional adjustability, which is often lacking in standard floor lights. It is well-suited for use as a reading light beside an armchair or sofa, as the flexible design means the light can easily be adjusted to provide optimal lighting.
It features an LED light source and is designed with the source positioned high up as to avoid dazzling and unpleasant lighting. One refined yet practical detail is its chimney-shaped head reflecting some of the light through the rear and therefore illuminating the top of the arm – while allowing the heat from the light source to escape.
