Description

by Jasper Morrison.

The Cork Family from Vitra is a wonderful collection of side tables made entirely of natural cork. Designer Jasper Morrison gave the Cork Family tables clear, geometric shapes with vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines that contrast vividly with the natural hues and velvety cork surface. Thanks to the lightweight and durable properties of cork, the tables can also be used as stools.

Model A, B, C, D, E : Height: 33 cm.  Diameter: 31 cm.

About the designer:

Jasper Morrison (1959) is one of the most successful industrial designers of his generation. He is known for an aesthetic and quietly humorous style that is often focused on modest daily functionality. Graduated from Kingston Polytechnic and Royal College of Art, Morrison opened his own studio in London in 1986, and today also has offices in Paris and Tokyo.

He has designed products from tableware to tram systems and has worked with brands such as Alessi, Vitra, Nikari, Flos, Fredericia and Iittala. Morrison's work has been exhibited around the world and in 2001 he received the Royal Designer for Industry award from the British Royal Society of Arts.
