The China Chair armchair is a design by Hans J. Wegner from 1944, which was inspired by the shape of the old traditional Chinese chairs from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The China Chair is a modern interpretation of ancient Chinese chairs, in which Hans Wegner's talent as an exceptional woodworker is beautifully reflected. This, combined with his flair for expressive and sculptural functionalism, resulted in a chair with impeccable and seemingly impossible reach. The relaxed shape of this design consists of armrests and offers you maximum comfort. Due to the versatile style of this chair, this design icon can be combined in many different styles and placed in various environments in your home. The chairs are supplied with a matching reversible leather seat cushion, finished with leather buttons (padded). The black China Chair with a black leather seat cushion and version in cherry wood has a walnut colored leather seat cushion.

Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) is a world famous Danish designer best known for his numerous chair designs. Wegner had a special ability to combine functionality and aesthetics; many of his designs are characterized by playful or poetic features.
