Swedish designer Sabina Grubbeson took her inspiration from the simple, geometric design of the traditional lampshade from Japan. About the designer:

Swedish designer Sabina Grubbeson (b. 1973) runs her own studio Grubbesondesign, which she founded in 2010 in Varberg, Sweden. Grubbeson started her career as a designer for a Swedish lighting company and moved on to freelance lighting design with brands such as Pholc and Konsthantverk. In addition to lighting, she also designs furniture and textiles.
