Artek POSTER - STOOL 60/ 80TH ANNIVERSARY, GREIGE
The stackable stool was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1933 and it unifies the basic ideas of functionalism. The simple idea behind the – meanwhile classic – stool are based on three bent feet and a round seat. The secret behind the success of the stool lies in the unique shape of the legs, which finally became an unmistakable mark of the designer’s work.
The poster emphasizes the stool and its sculptural character. Some specimen of the stool are piled becoming a
stool-sculpture. The photograph seems especially elegant in grey tones with a white frame.
