The Pirkka range was designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara in 1955 and refers to the shapes of Finnish rustic furniture. With the mind of an explorer and the soul of a craftsman, Ilmari Tapiovaara was always looking for new solutions to improve everyday objects.
During his long career, Tapiovaara created dozens of iconic objects that are loved by the public. Tapiovaara is especially revered as a master of characteristic and human objects and environments.
